Temporary Police Outposts, Mozambique
Pacific Rim Constructors was contracted to mobilize and install two Temporary Police Outposts in the Afungi Peninsula, Mozambique. The project was executed outside the stewarded project area, requiring independent safety and security systems to support the construction. Completed in 2020, this project was an enabling factor for the ExxonMobil presence in the area.
Execution & Safety
PRC delivered the outposts under budget and on time, with no safety incidents, despite the ever-changing security situation in Afungi. The project strengthened PRC's track record for executing complex builds in remote, security-sensitive regions.
The Afungi region presented significant logistical challenges, requiring careful coordination to transport materials and equipment to the final job site. In addition, construction activities were carried out in a high security risk area, requiring heightened planning, protective protocols, and adaptive execution strategies.
